Troubled Youths Even More Affected by COVID-19 News Cycle Depression and joblessness are leading to drug and alcohol abuse, domestic battery and even suicide. And if you were a troubled youth before the pandemic, the current situation will only make matters worse. That’s the opinion of Kasey Taylor, a Texas-based counselor in behavioral health. “If you were already feeling like you were losing your way in life, the COVID-19 news cycle and all things surrounding it, are going to weigh on you more than most people and, without counseling, can lead to serious consequences”, she says. Ms. Taylor is a founder and COO of Maze for Life Resource Centers. Maze of Life has locations in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho and three in the Chicago area. Maze of Life works particularly with troubled youth, people who have had problems with drugs, alcohol, and the law. Her office has seen a surge in phone calls since COVID-19 has been constantly in the news cycle. Ms. Taylor and her staff deal with the youths, their families and even probation officers and attorneys seeking help for their clients. Ms. Taylor is a native Chicagoan and an author and public speaker and would be an excellent guest or news resource to discuss these turbulent times and the best ways to deal with them. May I introduce you to her and perhaps set up a preliminary phone call? Thank you for your consideration.
