What happened to this station. I only hear dead air for weeks?

Correct pronunciation of Hawaiian names would be a plus because right now it's annoying to hear, like a record being scratched on a record player. 🙈🙉🙉🙉

I've really enjoyed this station all year, but noticed it's been dead silence since December 20, 2022. I hope the station returns SOON with the Amazing variety of classic songs from the Diverse Music Genres (Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, and R&B), across the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 2000's! The nostalgia was incredible! Please bring back the music. It was such a nice station to listen to when I get tired of the same current music on other stations.

By far the best radio station out there. I wish they would play more music from mase, ying yang twins, pretty ricky and paul wall. Keep up the good work. Mahaloz.

KNAN 106.7FM is just a repeater, meaning it's basically a box on the ground next to an antenna. The broadcast actually comes from Las Vegas, and, as there's no brick-and-mortar attached to it, it's just music with an occasional station ID. I'd watched and listened to this frequency for years hoping to get in contact with the owners to try to get some programming of local hiphop and r'n'b artists on the station. I'd had some success with doing shows like that on KPRP 650AM and KPHI 96.7FM. I was able to find out who owned it, and was in contact with them, pitching my show idea. We scheduled a meeting and everything, and I was OVERLY excited at the prospect of getting back on an FM station to do some programming to give airplay to Hawaii's super talented Hiphop and R'n'B artists (yes Hawaii has them). I was literally standing in the parking lot of the owning company's offices in March of 2020 when our meeting was cancelled due to the strip being shut down due to COVID-19. I made several attempts after that to reschedule and see if we could get something going, but I guess it's just not worth it to them. Albeit, I love the programming they have going on now, 90's and early 2000's Hiphop and R'n'B. It works, so eh, why mess with it? So there's no on-air personalities or station manager to talk to about it. They still don't have it available online for streaming, but now that I see my idea actually works, even though I won't ever get any credit for it, lol, I may just change the format of my internet radio station, KRUD-DB Rudeboy Radio 808 so people can enjoy the music from the best eras in Hiphop and R'n'B without having to be within the station's broadcast radius. I love what they're doing though, and hope they expand the station's reach with an online component in the near future. In the meantime, check out KRUD-DB Rudeboy Radio 808 for the best mix of Hiphop, R'n'B, Reggae, and Indie.
