we can use some help getting the word out, please: enclosed is the actual fundraiser letter and the flyer of the event. . could yous please say something on the radio?, some air time, for several days prior to event up to the event, Please read, and if your station, can donate as well, ( things we may be able to give away) Ms. Kathy Keller 994 Poinsetta Street Cocoa, FL 32927 (321) 480 - 6477 June 10, 2014 Dear Sir/Madam: I am in the process of organizing a Fundraiser which is scheduled on July 26th, 2014 at Riviera Park in Palm Bay, Florida for my daughter, Melissa Keppol, who has recently been diagnosed with Epilepsy and Psychogenetic Seizure Disorder. I am raising funds for her day to day needs with the help of many volunteers. Our family has not received any answers to what is causing these seizures or a stable medicine regimen to control them. Due to the amount of seizures on a daily basis, Melissa is unable to drive or work. This sudden diagnosis put an emotional and financial strain on our family. Any donation from your organization would be much appreciated. I am respectfully requesting a donation from your company for this meaningful event. This donation could be in the form of an item with your company logo, a gift basket and/or a gift certificate for products or services available at your facility. I have enclosed a short biography about Melissa called “Melissa’s Corner – Fight Against Epilepsy”. You can contribute by sending your donation to the above address or you may call me. I will gladly pick up your donation. Thank you so much for your consideration of a donation on this matter. Our family appreciates your willingness to help us in this endeavor to help my daughter continue her fight. Sincerely, Ms. Kathy Keller “MELISSA’S CORNER” Melissa is a vibrant 26 year old Mother of a 6 year old young daughter. Melissa has always been a hardworking and responsible mom who could light up any room. In early 2013, Melissa suddenly started suffering from seizures. After many tests, finally in September of 2013, Melissa was given the devastating news that she suffers from Epilepsy as well as Psychogenetic Seizure Disorder. She now suffers up to 40 small seizures a day with sporadic grand mal seizures throughout the week. This awful disease has left Melissa unable to work, unable to drive, and unable to be alone. Her entire house has had to be re-done to accommodate that she could seize and fall at any given time without warning. She must wear a full head-helmet when she leaves the house. She cannot shower without someone being in close proximity. Due to this awful disease, she has suffered broken cheek bones, fractured ribs, multiple bruises, concussions, etc. Melissa is a strong and independent woman who is devastated at this sudden diagnosis and “temporary” stoppage of life as she knew it. She is under constant medical care in hopes of finding at least a stable point to these seizures. With the help of these great doctors and research, Melissa can gain her stability and confidence back once again. The doctors are still searching for a treatment plan and a course of action that will help Melissa. Our family is asking for help. While the doctors try to find the trigger to these episodes and while waiting for government assistance to take effect, her family is struggling to meet day to day needs. Your help in her fight would be a blessing. Please join us in “Melissa’s Corner” to help her with her fight against Epilepsy and get her life back!!! i can send you the actual flyer to this event
