Please post the Information on Dahlonega Trail Fest: 2016. The Dahlonega Trail Fest will be held on September 9-11, 2016 on the Dahlonega Square, For the fall hiking season, Starting at the Springer Mountain, southern terminus of the AT, thus the nickname, “Southern Gateway to the Appalachian Trail.” Come join us as we celebrate Dahlonega's designation as an AT Trail Community and our connection with the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Trail Fest, a project of Yahoola Outdoors, is a festival of outdoor enthusiasts revolving around all aspects of non-motorized recreation: hiking, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, mountain biking, orienteeering, and more! The festival features authors, speakers, workshops, music, food, vendors, movies and non-profit groups. Major sponsors this year are REI Co-op, Troncalli Subaru, Montaluce Winery, and Urban Tree Cidery. Trail Fest will include a Wine and Beer Garden serving Georgia grown wine, beer, and apple cider. Meet local artists producing jewelry, leatherwork, pottery and soaps, Gopher Broke Band, Legendary Speakers Gene Espy, Richard Judy and Michelle Pugh. . Non-profit and informational booths will cover information on all aspects of non-motorized recreation. Equipment vendors will provide the latest advice and merchandise for outdoor pursuits. Manufacturers reps will be available for information on their products. Trail Fest will open on Friday, September 9 at 5:00 pm and feature a film at the Wine and Beer Garden. Saturday hours are 9:00-9:00 pm and will also include a film. Sunday hours are 10:00-4:00 pm. Opportunities for sponsorships, vendor booths, raffle and silent auction donations end Friday August 26.
