Listener Comments and Reviews

My name is Darrell Hykes and I'm the CEO/President/Owner/Head Coach of The Team America Titans which is a youth sports organization based in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. My program focuses on youth basketball players that do not receive the same "opportunities" as elite players which is why I put together a basketball tournament for high school seniors that want "that" same opportunity. If you will, please announce this over the air to any students that might be intereseted (the tournament is listed in the latest edition of Okolona Messenger): Good day! This is Coach Hykes of the Team America Titans. If you're a high school senior (male or female) and have a desire to play basketball at the next level then you definitely want to be a part of The OHS Senior B-Ball Invitational Tourney! My goal is to create opportunities. I'm not guaranteeing you'll play at the next level however this tournament is designed to give you a taste of and help you prepare for what could be next.. Having played competitive basketball (youth & rec centers, middle school, high school, college intramurals, and military) starting as early as the age of 5, I know what it's like to miss opportunities and trust me, you don't want to miss this one. Here's some basic info about the tournament... Location: Okolona HS, 404 Doctor Howard Gunn Street, Okolona, MS 38860 When: Saturday & Sunday / March 16-17 https://tab.leagueapps.com/events Tourney Rules and Schedules.docx What if I'm home schooled, didn't play for my school's team, or I dropped out? No problem. As long as you've completed your junior year of high school, you're eligible for this tournament. How much does the tournament cost? $50.50 per player (if players need financial assistance, please let me know) What's the maximum age to participate? 19. There will be a separate mens and womens game for players 20+. Will college coaches be present? No promises however I've reached out to 200+ college and/or university basketball reps in the state of MS! Should I expect to have fun? Yes! Originally, we were only inviting players from Chickasaw, Monroe, and Lee Counties however we've expanded the field to include players from Calhoun, Clay, Pontotoc, and Webster. Thanks. Darrell
