An 8 year old girl was killed by a vehicle illegally passing a school bus as she and her mother were crossing the street to load the bus. The stop arm was activated and the eight-way red lights were (flashing). More than 26 million students ride a school bus each day. On a single day during the 2018-19 school year 95,319 vehicles passed school buses illegally. (National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services) Your listeners face this life-threatening issue every day. Stopped school buses are a death zone. But, they don’t have to be!
