Listener Comments and Reviews

I PICKED UP YOUR RADIO STATION, 1540 AM, AT 4AM EASTERN TIME IN BINGHAMTON, NY. BETWEEN YOU AND KMOX IN ST. LOUIS, MO, YOU'RE THE FARTHEST I'VE PICKED UP FROM UPSTATE NY. I PICKED IT UP ON MY C CRANE RADIO.

Back in 1955, I could receive your KXEL station in Oakland, California. Now because the FCC has allowed too many stations on the air from 1985 until now, I can no longer receive KXEL. Those were the good old days of radio DXing long gone. What a shame.

Back in the "good old days", like 1969, 1970, 1971, I was living in Lomira, WI. I remember listening to The Bernie Roberts Show every Saturday evening from 7:00-7:30 or 7:30-8:00. It was old-time music. I don't remember who the announcer was for the show. Maybe someone there might remember?

I recall as a young lad in the early 1960s picking up KXEL, Waterloo IA late at night on my transistor radio. At the time I thought it was the neatest thing to hear a station that was west of the Mississippi River when I was all the way east living in the D.C. area.
