To repetitious. need to add more music. I am 69 and have never heard some of this music. Some of it is very boring.

Love your radio station. Haven't heard some of these songs in many years. Glad you don't play rap or heavy rock/metal.

Found this station by accident one day at work...absolutely love it. Wish it had more power, so it would broadcast farther than Albemarle, as even the company I work for likes it and would like to be able to use it as their in-store station.

I want you to know I love your radio. I love the music. Most of brings memories of my childhood back to me and most of the rest makes me sing along and even dance while I'm at work. I just wanted to thank you and don't change

Like your format but cannot listen even in New London due to your output power situation. Really wish you could boost your power enough to cover most of Stanly.

Hey! I found my dads old testimony on a cassette tape, that was on WABZ radio station. My tape got messed up and I was reaching out hoping you might would have a copy?? It’s really old, like back in 1992-1993 maybe, his name was Donnie Fowler, he had passed away in 2002 and I’ve tried to listen to this tape but it has messed up some! I would love and greatly greatly appreciate if you could look around possible for it? We are from Oakboro NC

I’d like to start off my introducing myself. My name is Christal (dway) Dunaway and I am the Silkies Hike Host for Jacksonville NC 6years and counting & would love to invite you out to the Suicide Prevention Silkies Hike. I got a message from Ellen about you and your business The Groom Room wanting to participate and or donate goodies to the hike! First off thank you for taking out the time to reach out..the hike grows daily I really appreciate it!
A little more about us.
Who are we?
Irreverent Warriors of Jacksonville NC consisting of Every Branch Officer & Enlisted Veterans/Active Duty, Reservist, National and Coast Guard
What do we do?
We bring veterans together using humor and camaraderie to improve mental health and prevent veteran suicide. We are a registered non-profit 501c3.
We hike for the 22 service members that commit suicide daily. The number is actually higher and we aim to end it ALL TOGETHER! 22 kilometers 22lbs on our backs for the 22 that we’ve lost to this on going battle. Healing with humor.
Why do we do this?
I was once that Marine who figured If I just wasn’t here any longer things would be better. A fellow Marine brother brought me out of that and I am forever grateful that I can stand as an advocate a mom and proud veteran showing anyone if I can come out of that dark hole so can they! REST IN PEACE SGT MUNN
Not all wounds are visible. That brother or sister that you hug just because they are down can save their life. RAIN SLEET OR SNOW we will hike in the name of Suicide Awareness
Who can physically hike?
While we encourage families to come to support our veterans at the hike, the hike itself is for veterans, active and reserve, service members only.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes! Just a few rules. Dogs must be well behaved and preferably a service dog as it has the training to be around large groups and lots of noise. Also, some of the establishments along the route only allow service dogs and at NO time are dogs to be left unattended. Please keep in mind, the hikes take place on the pavement (usually) and in the hot summer sun
Local businesses and business owners have joined in by donating time services and goods. Zumba instructors, Veteran Motorcycle Clubs, Big Jays BBQ donated and Entire Hog! Food lion donated water, The Groom Room VeteranOwnedANDOPERATED donated good and snacks as well. This Event is more of a Family Reunion in my eyes. It’s a chance for you to network meet new people hear funny crazy stories. After 15 years My VERY FIRST ROOMATE IN THE CORPS surprised me and few down. Last year Veterans from over 20 different states flew in to participate.
This is our 6TH Annual Event with over 300 Registered.
Our stops include Applebee’s, Chuvy’s, Mission BBQ, The Carolina House, Olive Garden (bread donations), Hooters is our final stop.
I’ve attached flyers, photos of past events as well as the Facebook/ Eventbrite Registration. This event is a FREE EVENT.
