Thanks for bringing back the Oldies Format. When Clear Channel sold out to Paval we lost a good thing. I went out and bought an XM receiver. They are good but I missed having a local station with people you know. Glad to have Van Ritchie back. Listened to him back in the day. Good luck to you. Saw your sign on Rt28. Nice that the Freeman did not mention your station when you went on the air in Feb. I would have been listening then.

A big thank you to everyone at 98.9. I love the music line up and especially the great classic music from the 50's. I am listening all the time now - at home, in the car and we have you tuned into work as well. Love you all. BTW, saw the sign on Rt.28. Good luck and please keep the 'music' alive!!!!!!!!♪♪♪

hey Van: Your swing is as smooth as your velvet voice. Catch you out on the links or on the air. At this stage anytime I make out, that's a good spot. all the best, cubby

I am glad that your station is playing a wide variety of oldies and not the same canned list you usually hear. Please continue; I also like hearing about the artists and the year of the composition. It is nice to have another good radio station like 101.5 WPDH and 100.1 Radio Woodstock. I have added your station to my pre set list.

Van I was listening to your radio show last week when you had quest Joe (Elvis) Barelli on the air. You mentioned a mutual friend Don Jett who I knew way back in 1967. I played with Don in his first band along with my brother Charlie and Gary Keeler our drummer from Pine Plains High School where we all attended. The name of our band was The Sole Distributor and our first gig was at Saint Mary's hall in Bangall N.Y. I was 15 years old at the time and very nervous about playing out that Friday night but Don was always confident and made our gig a huge success. We never played a Elvis song in our group so I was very surprised when he went on to made a career as a Elvis impersonator.Don lived in Bangall N.Y. and we would always practice on Sunday afternoons in the Church next to his house. The last time I spoke with Don was back about 12 years ago when he came up from Florida to pick up his mother and go home. I think he lives in Hudson Florida and still performs from time to time. Don always loved playing out so we never seemed to lack gigs, we played at School dances, private parties, barn dances on Friday nights and even a bar joint . I just wanted to share this info with you and I love to listen to the oldies and 98.9 so thanks ! Pete

Love your way back Wednesdays. I am looking for a song you played from the 80s/ 90s which has words "dance all" repeated in it any idea? I don't know the song or group can't understand half to words but still love the song.

Hi Van, how are you? My name is Lisa, I drive a truck for a living and every once in a while I get upstate. Tomorrow 10/24/2016 I am coming up and YES I get to listen to you for only a moment. I wish I could listen to you everywhere I go. I wish I could listen to you in NJ, MD, PA, DEL, MASS, CONT, but sadly to say I can't. Van I have to tell you the people of Rosendale, NY and all the neighboring towns that hear you are very BLESSED to have you! I think you are a fantastic radio host, I love the music you play, I love your soulful voice, I love your heart felt soul. I remember you were talking about an event for the veterans and I could feel the love coming out of you for them. Van keep up the great work. Never stop doing what you are doing. And God Bless You Always my friend. Take care and be safe! Lisa Godino

There are so many songs that maybe were one hit wonders that we never hear. I wish we could hear more of these.

Hi! I listen to 98.9 whenever I have a radio on at home and in the car. Again, this morning you played “Hey Baby” - a oldies classic. The problem is that the singer’s name was pronounced incorrectly - it is not Bruce Channel (like the English Channel, but is pronounce “Sha-nell”). Have heard the name said wrong on a few occasions by your radio station and would really like for you to get it right. Thanks, T. Brasky

hey, what happened to dick bartlet's show? it was on staurday nights now it's the wolfman jack show from 7p.m. til midnight and also i see you no longer air when radio was on saturday nights anymore either.what is going on?
By: michael thomas on April 30, 2018

Bob O needs to pronounce the word COVID correctly. There is an “I” near the end if the word and not an Z”E”. Is pronounced coVID ( as VIDeo sounds) and not coVED. Thanks
