Listener Comments and Reviews

Under the name 'Praise-1590,' WRXB-1590 is an unique station, offering a fine service of Gospel and Inspirational programming, targeted at the communities of Saint Petersburg, Fl and appealing to a very wide demographic in those communities, by vehicle of the diversity and richness of the station's programming and the services 1590-WRXB offers to the Community. Formerly known in the stations early years as bearing the WILZ call sign. Switching from an Adult Standards format sometime in the early-mid 1970s and under the new call letters of WRXB, the radio station was taken into a bold, new direction. To appeal to a younger, hipper audience with programming that featured the very latest in Contemporary Urban mixed with Classic Soul, and on weekends WRXB would feature the finest in Gospel music programming. WRXB would continue this tradition through the decades, keeping the station's imaging and presentation up with the times, and a rate of appeal that was even able to compete with other, very big FM stations in the Tampa-Bay market that were targeting the younger demographics. In the early part of the 2000s there came a popular demand in the Saint Petersburg listening area for more Gospel programming and WRXB-1590 was there to meet that demand with excellence, consistency and determination. Today Praise 1590-WRXB is the top Gospel and Inspirational radio station in the Bay area.
