Listener Comments and Reviews

Just changed to "new" packaged announcers - not as good as old from the Oldies radio station in mid-west :(

Anti-semitism on the airwaves: Listening to WLAM 1470 on my way home from work this afternoon (10/15) at about 3:24 p.m. The female DJ was telling about George Clooney's wife buying him some Italian Murano crystal cocktail glasses at $100 each. "Good thing she's not Jewish, huh?" I am so furious!!! Is there anything you think we can do to get such garbage off the air??? I, obviously, will no longer be listening to WLAM 1470, including the Channel 6 News that they broadcast on that station in the morning. At least not until they publish a sincere apology and discipline the DJ.

It is important to me to listen to WCSH6 news and weather when you have it available, however, frequently lately there is music still playing over the news... it is very annoying and not helpful!

Two comments regarding your station. First I thoroughly enjoy your DJ’s and the programmed music. What I cannot understand is the occasional interference on the transmission of your station. I have times of the day where I actually have to go elsewhere because of the interference going on. Sometimes the interference is minimal, but there are times that it is awful. Second has to do with the recent Hispanic ? commercials? Given that we are a French Canadian community you don’t provide French commercials, why Hispanic? I am not bigoted I am simply asking a simple question?

I have always loved this station until recently. You have changed everything. The music is not oldies from the fifties and sixty. It sounds more like big band or from musical. No more Elvis or everly brothers. Also lost wcsh news at 5am. But the worst part is the oldies. I no longer listen to this station.

Why is the morning WCSH 6 news not on anymore? I used to listen to your station an hour a day.

Love your new music program, just wish it would come in in the house, I have heard songs that I have not heard in years, also songs my parents listened to. My sister and aunt also love to listen to it. Do you have a web site that plays the same thing on tablets

Just discovered you today (Saturday) WLAM 870AM while in Saco area. Playing Country 40's thru 80's. Brought back memories of happy times when I first met my husband. Thanks for keeping great country alive.

Hi! I'm wondering why station 870 is on sometimes and off sometimes. Is it a financial thing that not enough money was raised to keep it going?. I live in Scarborough and can't get 730 too clearly most of the time, but I love 870, and especially on Saturday when you play the old country music. I thought maybe it was caused by a power outage in that last storm, but now it's off again. Originally I couldn't hear it much beyond Gorham, but then for awhile It was even really clear way up in Standish and Sebago, which was even better, but alas, it's very erratic everywhere these days. Did you know this was happening or why? It's very frustrating. Thanks for any information you can give me.

Is this station still up and running? I have been trying to send a donation but the address I have keeps getting returned and the only phone number is no longer to the station but another business. Any help would be appreciated.

I thoroughly enjoy your broadcast, unfortunately I cannot receive it in my vehicle. I especially recommend the Saturday country lineup, it brings back many memories. Thank you!

Thanks WLAM, A friend pointed me to your radio station a couple months ago. I simply love it. I also look forward to you Saturday cowboy and western music. Oh my, what memories. I especially enjoy your variety of oldies for the 40s, 50,s, and 60s. I never know what's coming next. Many Thanks, Art
