Golf Tournament to raise funds for children’s bereavement camp The 13th Annual Rick Mommsen Jr. & Steve Ditchfield Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Blackmoor Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, SC on Saturday July 25th with a shotgun start at 9:00am. Each year Blackmoor and its staff host this tournament to raise funds for the Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation. All proceeds of this captain’s choice tournament are donated to HPCF’s Camp Hands of Hope, a bereavement camp for children ages 5-18 and their families who have recently lost a loved one. In the Spring camp session families attend a weekend long retreat at Ripley’s Aquarium where they are involved in fun and therapeutic activities to help them on their grief journey as well as memorial activities to honor their loved ones. Camp Hands of Hope has been repeatedly recognized as one of the top bereavement camps in the country by the National Alliance for Grieving Children and the New York Life Foundation.
