I fall asleep nearly every night (wx permitting) to WPTX here in Pittsburgh - really enjoy the format! The only occasional interference is from WVON out of Chicago. What I'd REALLY like to know , however, is how your nighttime coverage can be that awesome on just 1,000 watts (directional-or-not) ? Thanks! Jay

WPTX just launched a website with a live stream at so people can hear their local high school football broadcasts while they are at nighttime power. Hopefully this gives Mark the information he requested without specifically breaking the "no links or html tags allowed" policy.

Love the music this station plays wish they had a working online feed. Very weak here in the southern coal fields of West Virginia. But comes in mostly every night. Bruce Kb8kac

I used to work, part-time, at WPTX (920) back in the mid-70's. I was there when we put WMDM-FM on the air. Is 1690 still broadcasting at 1 KW at night? I used to hear it, via the University of Twente (Netherlands) WebSDR. It hasn't come in lately.
