I just found the smooth Jazz station after it was flipped to am and not fm I missed my Smooth JaZZZ AND NOW THIS A.M. ITS OFF THE AIR. Why? and now where do i go
By: Sandra LeVell on May 6, 2011

It was unbelievable to have lost FM Smooth Jazz last year! Fortunately, we now have AM 1400 but the station doesn't play on a $19.99 quality type Radio. We had to spend the money and get a good radio. I am Hispanic, was born in Los Angeles, and speak fluent Spanish. I'm surprised, to put it lightly, to now hear commercials in Spanish. It's my personal opinion as a Hispanic that I don't care to hear advertising in any foreign language. You don't ever hear Spanish/foreign language advertising on Jazz stations in Los Angeles, San Diego or Phoenix, as examples. Commercials in English are annoying enough. People don't enjoy hearing jibberish in between the music. Thanks for listening.

I am very glad to see Smooth Jazz back in Reno. I hope your future plans call for live summer jazz concerts similar to the old station's format as well as sponsoring the Friday night golf tourney's. But most of all I am thakfull that Jazz will remain in Reno.

Can we listen online, if not when?
By: Marietta O'Reilly on August 9, 2011

I was so angry when we lost the FM Smooth Jazz Station last year. I just couldn't believe they moved a Country Western Station in its place. There was only one Jazz Station and I do believe FM lost a lot of listeners because of it. I was so excited when I walked into Meadowood Mall today and saw a sign advertizing Smooth Jazz 1400. It is now marked as my favorite on my radio in my car. My husband will do the same in his truck. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. You have made my day. I will spread the word.

Thank you so much for bringing Smooth Jazz 1400 AM to the Reno/Sparks area. I found the station today as I drove home from work - I was ecstatic!! It was a horrible day when I tuned to 92.1 FM and heard country western music. I hope to hear 1400 AM in businesses throughout the area. Thanks again - my ears thank you, too.

Great to read all of the positive comments. Thank you everybody. We would like to clarify that the format is being presented under what is called in the broadcast industry a Time Brokerage Agreement (TBA). Comments, thanks, or questions should be directed to smoothjazz1400@live.com and not to Flinn Broadcasting.

Looking for a song I heard today, 10-21-11, with the works only have eyes for you.
By: Rickey Boucher on October 22, 2011

I have been a smooth jazz listener for many years and attended many of the sponsored concerts over the years. I have always listened to smooth jazz on my way to work, and was quite surprised perturbed to find a country and western station at the 92.1 FM setting. I'm glad Smooth Jazz is back. I hope that an eventual return to a FM format is planned , since the AM broadcast is somewhat flat in sound quality.

Since finding smooth jazz, I have become a regular listener. This is in the way of a freindly suggestion. It would be a nice touch if you would find a way to offer the time of day throughout the program. Thanks and keep up the good music.

By: william on March 21, 2012

We once had smooth jazz on FM, then it went away. Then we got smooth jazz on AM, now it is gone. A lot of us here in Carson Valley love the format of smooth jazz. Please get back on the air (FM)....
By: Bill on April 13, 2012

Hi Mr. Flinn, I have really enjoyed listening to the Smooth Jazz that the station plays - HOWEVER - I want to know what is happening??? You have been off the air for several weeks & no one seems to know when you will be back...I'm concerned that you won't be back. That would be a dis-service to your listening audience. The main reason - I love RnR, but after listening to the stations around here play the same classic rock day after day - PLEASE save my sanity!!!!! by:Annie on April 27, 2012

My first job as Chief Engineer was for an AM station licensed as KHOE Truckee, California. A long time ago. Is this station a successor?
