Listener Comments and Reviews

Hello, My name is Rodney Waugh and I am with the Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society in Charleston, WV. Since 1987, our club has teamed up with Blackwater Falls State Park in Davis, WV to have Astronomy Weekend. This year our event will be on September 6 – 8. Arrival date is Thursday September 6. Astronomy lectures will be on Friday and Saturday. Our day events include astronomy speakers from West Virginia University, Marshal University, Shawnee State University, Johns Hopkins University of Applied Science Laboratory, and the lead scientist from the Greenbank Telescope in Greenbank, WV. For more information about our event, go to www.kvas.org and click on events then click on schedule to see the list of speakers and other information. Our evening events include Star Parties every night. The night skies at Blackwater Falls are very dark, sometimes to the point you can’t even see your hand in front of your face. The area is an astronomers and Astro-photographers dream come true. The good thing about our event is it is all free. Neither our club nor Blackwater Falls State Park has ever charged any admission fees to attend. Meanwhile, if you have any questions about our event, you can reach Ed Connors (KVAS Co-Observatory Director) at edconnors@yahoo.com or by phone 304-532-6115. Alternatively, call Rodney Waugh (KVAS Co-Observatory Director) at rwaughkvas1@netscape.net or by phone 304-549-6171. I hope you will be able to join us under the dark skies at Blackwater Falls State Park. Clear Skies, Rodney Waugh
