Good afternoon. My name is Tracy and I have a sister-in-law that lives in Belleview. She was recently involved in a domestic violence situation. Her husband held her hostage when they went to bed and sexually assaulted her and pistol whipped her and she was not able to go to the ER for hours! The top of her ear was completely split and needed stitches on both the ear and head and had a concussion . He pointed the gun at her multiple times saying he was going to kill her. He let her out of the room because it was time for the 4 boys to go to school and he told her to act normal and he would be listening. Her mom is the one that brings the boys to school and she left her mom a note letting her know what had happened and to call the police. So he was arrested after an 8 hour standoff with police. This was at the end of October. Last Friday she was fired from her job because he kept calling her place of work and the owners where worried about the safety of their employees. He was caught on the security camera trying to climb in the window with a gun. The cops called him to see where he was and he lied about where he was, but it was clearly him on the video (he didn't know she had put cameras up), so now he is on the run. He has made up a profile on a singles website, so she has had multiple strange men show up at her house all hours of the night. On 12/3/18 the Marshall's and police found out where he was (at a storage unit near his dads place) and before they could arrest him, he shot himself. Now she is a single parent with 4 boys (ages 16, 13, 9 and 3) and no income. She is getting help with bills from Non-profit agencies, but it still will not cover everything. I'm reaching out because it's almost Christmas and she will not be able to do much of anything for her boys. Even though they have been through a tough time, they are crushed. She has to come up with the money to have him cremated, the divorce was not finalized and she will need the death certificate because they have bills/cars together. She knows if she releases the body to his parents, she will never see a death certificate. We are trying to help as much as we can, but it will not be a lot. Any help would be forever and greatly appreciated.
