Hi! I'm Andrea Miller, a foster family recruiter for UMFS. We are looking for ways to find foster families in the southern area of Virginia. Emporia has previously had an incredible network of families for us, but we need to continue growing so that we can better serve the children who need foster families and homes. Many of the children that we work with are at risk teens and youths. The older the child is, the harder it is to find a family for them. This is because of stereotypes perpetuated by popular media and communities that don't understand what foster care really is.
