Listener Comments and Reviews

WRBK 90.3 FM I wish you signal was stronger. I always try to listen to your station in my car. But the signal is less clear in certain areas of Charlotte. At home on my radio I can usually get you more clearly at night time , say around 6:00 pm. PLEASE get a stronger signal so that I can clearly listen to your GREAT station at all times of the day and night. I love the songs you play---especially when Charlie Brown is playing them. All the best to you!

I too love your station (WRBK 90.3 FM). Rabbit ears and dipole antennas get good reception at my home in Matthews, NC but reception in the car can be sketchy at best sometimes. I hope you can get the simulcast station in Fort Mill! Turn it up and thanks for all the great music!
By: kyle on June 15, 2011

I love your oldies music, I'm a baby-boomer and I grew up listening to all your oldies in N.Y.C. I love that you don't have commercials, the other stations they talk too much and the music is just not my style at all.I live in Concord N.C. and it's so hard to get your station. It goes in and out all the time, WRBK 90.3 is really on the money. Fantastic listening all the time. I really hope that your station could come to Charlotte it really would be awesome. Thanks for being around. Nydia

It is so nice to hear over the airwaves, "Remember Jesus Christ is the reason for the season." I love your station, the music you play, and it's commercial free! My husband and I have our music alarm set to 90.3 FM to wake us up every morning.

Hi, Love your Oldies music - On Sunday, 12/16/12, around 4:30 pm. you played WHEN A CHILD IS BORN by Johnny Mathis. I've looked for it at several music outlets in Charlotte. On line, it looks like it may be from his CHRISTMAS 100 album, but can't find it - do you have it on a single CD?? Know where I can get it?? Must have - I have a newborn boy in my family and would love to give it for a "welcome" gift to the parents. Can you help me? Many thanks!
By: MARY MELTON on December 19, 2012

WONDERFUL station!!! Found you quite by accident but you help me make it through the work day. Keep on playing the great songs!!!

I can 100% write or talk about your station 90.3 all day and night why? Because of all of the different kinds of music you play to me is ( THE BEST OF ALL ) !!! I pray and hope your ( STATION NEVER NEVER NEVER ) go's off the air and ( NEVER NEVER NEVER ) change the kind of music you play each and every day and night!!! if I can do anything to help keep 90.3 on the air e-mail me at once and I will do all as I can to help !!! Your music reminds me that the world is full of good people and we only need to accept the other to accept ourselves.
By: Paul Gotwald on September 3, 2013

LOVE the stations songs.I wish you tell the name of the songs and who sings them.I know some of them. You play one everynow and then I would love to know who sings it and what the name is.Its a female group and some of the main words are heaven in your arms, the joy you brought me. Very up beat
By: Patsy on January 14, 2014

Your station is the only one left in this area that plays oldies and beach. I have been listening for years. A power increase would bring in a lot of listeners in the Belmont & Gastonia area. Please stay on the air. Good music like that is hard to find now. 24-7 oldies and beach cannot be beat!!!
By: mike somers on July 21, 2014

Love your station, do you have the play list for 8/16 @ 11:30am - 1:30 pm I would love to give a certain song that was played for our Anniversary. Camden SC area.

What a Great Radio Station!!! Question: I live in Cheraw SC and listen to 91.1 Society Hill. I'm 12Miles North of tower and one day comes in loud and clear. the next can opposite. static, fading in and out, other stations walking all over your signal. Now I go the opposite direction to Florence SC 40 Miles away and signal comes in loud and clear. GO FIGURE!!! Whats wrong with tower??? This is happening almost every other day. If I got to live with it, so be it but sure wish signal was same for 360o. Keep up the good work!
By: Bill Wilkerson on August 21, 2014

This is the best music on the radio. Reminds me of all the music I listened to while growing up in Jamaica, NY. Wish your signal was stronger. I'd love to know who selects your music!!!
By: Ruth P on August 28, 2014

I can no longer pick up 99.1 for your great station I am in Clinton SC please tell me where I can get reception again..Thanks
By: SUSAN on September 16, 2014

It would be good if your signal was strong enough to reach the Clinton SC area or start a station in the Clinton area. We do not have an oldies station since WKRI sold out.
By: Roy on October 2, 2014

Love my "only station". BUT please lose the background clicks behind all anouncements. Sounds like I left my turn signal on.
By: Mark Fox on March 4, 2015

Love your station, but the signal isn't great here in Charlotte. I muddle through the static!
By: Susan on April 11, 2015

Great station wish they had setup in Columbia,sc passed. By this station on my way to rock hill never changed it
By: jamey on May 28, 2015

Moved to Indian Land from Columbia about a year ago. We didn't get your station in Columbia. We have thoroughly enjoyed your broad casts. Your mix of music is great. The car radio is always on WRBK. Thanks for the great job.
By: Pete on August 26, 2015

So GREAT to listen to WRBK 90.3 in my car and home. You play a GREAT Mix of the BEST MUSIC that's ever been recorded. THANKS for keeping it going.
By: DJ Deacon on January 21, 2016

Charlotte signal is iffy especially if want to listen in the house instead of just in the car but this is the only station that I leave on all the time in the car I just wish that you guys would put up a playlist with the names and artists of the songs that you play with his if I happen to not know one and then forget to try to look it up right away by the words you don't have any kind of station information online and I am really looking for a particular song I would try to get some help from the people on here but I don't quite remember enough of it at the moment for it not to get confused with another song there are actually two that I'm looking for and I have the approximate dates is been in the past week if there is a website where you do list the songs that you've played I would love for you to put it up on your page on Facebook or have more direct links to your station I keep finding things that say download an app for similar music or for streaming but not anything for people who are actually listening to the songs in real time and then want to look them up after you know what they are so if you are able to set up an actual website with dates and times of your songs that would be great for the fans or to announce after or before the song probably after I would say who it was and what the name would be I think that would be good without taking up a whole lot of time, thank you for your station and know that there are many people in their twenties thirties and forties that listen to the station and even younger so please do not think that expanding into Charlotte would not be a good idea because it would your station is for everybody and I think you would have a stronger base here then maybe believe since we lost all three of the oldies stations that we have had in the past decade or two.
By: Sherry on April 3, 2016

Hey just found this station. Love it!
By: Janis baker on June 18, 2017

I am here exactly for the question Alan asked back in March. "Don't have to go but can't stay here" And great trivia question if we can figure it out lol. It is not on Google, or any beach music site I know. And a great song. Your station, play list, and 24/7 great music is very appreciated. If there is a donation site to assist with your lack of ads please let me know. You are a true jewel of the South.

Feature Story: I Would like to spotlight; our Founder/CEO, Ella "Jennie" Skelton-Floyd of Worldwide Widows and Widowers Inc., a non-profit organization that was birthed after the death of her beloved husband Dr. Michael Lee Floyd, Judge Advocate General, Emeritus. She has gracefully embraced the ministry that God has endowed unto her to counsel widows, widowers and Pastor's spouses, during their time of grief. Currently, she is campaigning for the widowed and setting up chapters in 7 states for the widowed, her goal is to set up chapters in the remaining 43 states that will support the widowed in grief counseling, financial assistance, scholarships and housing. You can find out more on our website; worldwidewidowsandwidowersinc.com. I hope and pray that WRBK will invite her to be a guest on the show. The statistical reports that she has shared with us are overwhelming and really needs to be shared with the world. Thanking you in advance for your kind consideration. You play a song all the time I love, but I don't know the name of the song so I can buy it. I can give you some of the lyric's: you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here, it also has last call for alcohol in it. Would you PLEASE tell me what the name of this song is so I can download it. I would really appreciate it, you can respond to my email: sc_wolf_50@hotmail.com Thank you Sue Black

I would like to find out what songs were played saturday july 29, 2017, between 4;30-5:30 pm, heard a song and I cant remember what it was. Would like to play it at my daughters wedding reception. Please! Hope you can help! Thank You, Edie Burson
By: edie burson on July 31, 2017

I love your station and listen all of the time. I have heard a song on there a couple of times that caught me off guard and today it came on with my children in the car listening. I do understand that the term "Bitch" is acceptable now for the FFA (really don't understand why). However could you please refrain from playing Elton John - The Bitch Is Back in the future. I would love to have 1 safe secular radio station to enjoy with my children and I don't raise them with this language. Any attention you can give to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Other than that, doing an awesome job & keep up the good work. Thank you
By: Duke Cornell on August 11, 2017

Love the station! Listen every time I get south of hwy 74. Wish the signal went more into Meck and Cabarrus Ctys!
By: Chuck Taylor on October 13, 2017

You don't just have the best oldies station in the South you have the best overall station. As I'm reading your customer reviews the only common theme is not what you play or your format but not being able to pick the station up in certain areas. You can never please everybody in life but you have the opportunity to please everyone of your listener by just putting your station on the internet. I for one and I'm sure there are others that would be willing to pay to hear it all day. Thank you!
By: Randy on October 29, 2017

I was with WSGE 91.7 over in Dallas NC for years. So let me clue you in on why the signal is why it is. Once upon a time WRBK came thru Charlotte, Gastonia, etc just fine. BUT WFAE 90.7 got ahold of 90.3 where the tower is in Hickory. They blast this back toward Charlotte and as best I can figure WRBK has to in essence short the signal This is a very typical NPR move that is done as a way to consolidate as much of their end of the spectrum.
By: Classichost on November 9, 2017

Is there any way I can find out what song played at 2:40pm Sunday afternoon 2-4-2018? It was basically an organ instrumental, with a few vocal breaks... "yeah", "C'mon" stuff like that. Thanks SO much... love the station.
By: Michael Anglado on March 4, 2018

I live on the west side of Charlotte in zip 28214 and we absolutely love the music. Every song is a classic hit and they just keep on rolling. The signal is very powerful in our office but as others have mentioned some static in the vehicle. A better web presence would help greatly - when searching for the call sign, Google offers other stations that have that presence. For the staff here working it's the only preferred station!
By: Steve Alsop on March 17, 2018

Can you give me the name of the female artist that recorded the Ferlin Huskey 1957 hit song "Gone"? I heard it yesterday while in my car and I would like to purchase the recording. Answer is appreciated, thank U..

You remember.....and PLAY....the music other stations forgot--such as what I grew up with listening to the Midwestern Top 40 legends such as CKLW (Windsor/Detroit), "Keener 13" (Dearborn/Detroit), WLS ("from the city by the shore"), WCFL ("the voice of labor"), WHB ("the world's happiest broadcasters" from Kansas City), KXOK (the St. Louis powerhouse heard all over Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois), and of course, KAAY, "The Mighty Ten-Ninety" from Little Rock. A good conversation starter was "which top 40 powerhouse was your fave"?". When music was music and radio was radio. You could hear the Beatles, Motown, O. C. Smith, Grass Roots, Turtles, Association, Bob Dylan, Sonny and Cher, Streisand, Johnny Cash, etc.--despite their different styles, it all sounded so naturally together. Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end, but unfortunately, they did. -Steve Gilmore, Charlotte, NC USA, who grew up in Ohio and travelling the Midwest hearing all of these legends.

Jamie Walton if you don't like Michael Jackson then You def don't like yo momma! (What was her name Billie Jean?) Your comment is not even worth posting I have no idea why it went through! Your comment was pure opinionated, that just doesn't cut the mustard! It only cuts cheese! If you don't like my comment then butter up and stick to your one child who is mad with you because you're too opinionated! Crazy!!

Hi Folks, I live in Monroe, NC and discovered this station by accident while waxing my vehicle in the garage. I have a high-end Grundig portable radio and it picks up your signal pretty well. I cannot believe a station like this exists!! I am a "baby boomer" and love your music. You "have it all over" any of the Sirius-XM stations for choice of music. I have heard songs on your channel that I haven't heard in many years. Also, virtually no talking or commercials. Awesome!! My one and only complaint is that I wish your could increase your broadcast power. I would never move the dial on my vehicle if you did that!! Thanks for the great tunes. Sincerely, Jim Griffin

Have been a listener for as long as I can remember. Everyone always gives me a hard time in my car because the station comes in kinda fuzzy. If ever I am riding with somebody and they step out of their vehicle, I secretly program every one of their presets with wrbk. Just trying to spread the joy 😉
