Listener Comments and Reviews
I have been listening to WKIP here in the Hudson Valley to get Rush, Sean, Mark, etc. It comes in very clearly. I want to know why twice an hour during the news breaks, we are being force-fed an ad for iHeartRadio that uses Obama's voice! Surely this is illegal! There is no disclosure at the end of the ad that it is an impersonation. Surely ClearChannel realizes not only how deeply offensive this is but how illegal and unethical it is as well??
Except in emergencies, I've gone back to listening to the shows in WABC (770 AM), even though the quality is worse. WKIP needs to address this issue ASAP.

By: Walter Watson on March 9, 2012
what happened did "they" shut you down?
By: rose on March 10, 2012
I too would like to know what happened. Country music I can do without. WRWD should provide enough. Why do you need two stations broadcasting the sane stuff. W/O talk radio I simply will not tune in. We needed that voice in this area. We need a counterbalance to the so called main stream media. I AM disapointed!
By: James Kingston on March 10, 2012
What happen to Sean Hannity ??? I used to listen to your station everyday but now all I hear is country music. I hope this has nothing to do with Rush's comments. That would be really pathetic. Obama should stop trying to control the media and start doing his job which he has failed to do for 3 years.
By: Debra on March 10, 2012
I used to listen every night. What happened to freedom of speech. Just what we don't need is more country music. If Obama gets re-elected we'll soon have just one radio station to listen to. Control the media and the rest will follow.
By: Joseph Troy on March 10, 2012
Ladies& gentleman here is the left-socialism in the Hudson-valley.nothing is sacred! Cowards! Put our station back on! Stop trying to silence people that don't agree with your anti-American views!!
By: Walter Watson on March 10, 2012
huge disappointment to find talk radio gone
By: tom mortenson on March 10, 2012
Some one from the radio station had better give an answer soon. Feels like government censorship.
By: Don Brewer on March 11, 2012
Bring Rush back! Please....
By: Paul Sachse on March 11, 2012
I don't know why you guys changed your format. Don't like it! You lost a listener!
By: Geo Blaine on March 11, 2012
What happened?????? Bring back the news.
By: gary linton on March 11, 2012
One of the only 'good things' I found here in Hudson Valley was WKIP talk radio and now it's gone. Who got to you? Who do you fear? Whoever it is, it's not a true American because you've succombed to tyranny. You and your backers will not kill Freedom of Speech. If you're not for Freedom of Speech, then you're against it.
By: Frank J Iamarino on March 12, 2012
Shame on you for caving in...
By: frankie marin on March 12, 2012
Show some cajones and get back into talk radio...
By: Frank Marino on March 12, 2012

By: john buonomo on March 12, 2012
Where is Mark Levin? Why am I hearing garbage? Why are you gutless flunkies? What overpaid Imbecile caved in and made this decision? Does Obama or the NY state dems own your station? Gee was it something Rush said? What about Bill Maher? You are UN-American and we will spread the word about you.
By: K. Maguire on March 12, 2012
What a dissapointment not hearing news/talk on WKIP, and especially having it replaced by another country station. Great reception all day and night since it was FM. What moron(s)made this decision. At least you learn something about what's going on in the world from talk radio. More than I can say from a sappy, sad, stupid country song!!!
By: joe d on March 13, 2012
I need Glenn Back!
By: roseann on March 13, 2012
Your station was the only one my radio was tuned to. It came in clearly as far as Kingston and New Paltz. I listened to Glenn, Rush, Sean, and Mark. Now you are just one more music station - as if we didn't already have enough of that. Did you sell your soul to Big Brother?
By: Fred Orman on March 13, 2012
Will we get talk radio back? I miss Imus, Rush, Sean, etc. Is there another radio station that carries talk radio that will cover the same area? What happened? Please tell me why this happened.
By: Maureen on March 13, 2012
Who wants country music. We have alot of country music but not enough talk radio. Bring back the talk radio hosts. I will not listen to 99.3 FM again until you bring back talk radio.
By: Tim on March 13, 2012
Glad to find this outlet to voice my disappointment with WKIP.
This station used to be on from 7am to 9pm. Not anymore, I tune in occasionally to see if talk radio is back.
Getting the line up you had on FM was a real treat.
Bring back talk radio to 99.3.
By: V.Allen on March 14, 2012
took a brib
By: Harry Balls on March 14, 2012
What happened to your station? I finally found a station listen to Hannity, Levin and Savage, not to mention Coast to Coast, and now I don't even tune in to 99.3. Not even a word was said prior to the sell-out. Shame on you.
By: Carol on March 15, 2012
Time to start contacting local advertisers and tell them you will not conduct business with them if they continue to sponser this type of censorship.
By: aangry listener on March 15, 2012
I liked talk radio. Suddenly I hear soime hog caller whinig so called country music. My WKIP button is playing country music Moo sick ;-(
By: Bill Wild on March 15, 2012

By: Mark on March 15, 2012
Well what did happen? I like my friends to be close and my enemies closer.. I liked listening to that nut bag mark... Funny dude. When are they going to fix it?
By: Wow guys on March 15, 2012
Bring back talk radio you morons. I used to listen to 99.3 religiously. Now I have to listen to 1450 which does not come in clearly in my area. I don't know what idiot decided that 99.3 needed country music, but they ought to lose their job.
By: Brendon on March 16, 2012
Are you kidding me? You switched to this crap !! i tuned in every day to hear the iman Sean mark and rush. until you bring back the talk format i Will tune in to 77 abc and i Will share my feeling with the sponsors .
By: Anonymous on March 17, 2012
BRET BASHORE AND OTHERS AT WKIP MAY HAVE SILENCED THE "TALK" FORMAT AT WKIP.....BUT THEY CAN NEVER SILENCE THE CITIZENS WHO WISH TO LISTEN TO AND SHARE IDEAS WITH OTHER AMERICANS....AMERICANS FROM BOTH THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT WERE FREE TO CALL IN WITH THEIR IDEAS OR COMMENTS ON WKIP UNTIL LIBERALS AND PROGRESSIVES USED THEIR BIAS AND CONTROL TO STOP FREE SPEECH.....REMEMBER ALWAYS THIS TRUTH....IF A "CONSERVATIVE" DOES NOT AGREE WITH,OR CARE FOR SOMETHING, THEY WILL MERELY STOP WATCHING, LISTENING OR BUYING A CERTAIN PRODUCT OR SERVICE......IF A "PROGRESSIVE LIBERAL" DOES NOT LIKE SOMETHING OR ANYTHING ABOUT SOMEONE OR SOMETHING....THEN TO THEM IT "MUST" BE VILIFIED, SINGLED OUT, MADE TO BE CRIMINAL AND FINALLY BANISHED BECAUSE IT DOES NOT FIT IN TO "THEIR" NARROW AND BIASED VIEWS OF THEIR UTOPIA.....WHERE "THEIR" GOVERNMENT KNOWS WHAT IS GOOD FOR YOU.....WHAT TO EAT, WHAT TO DRINK, WHAT TO DRIVE AND HOW YOU SHOULD LIVE.....UNFORTUNATELY FOR PROGRESSIVES, "THE PEOPLE"...."ALL" OF THE PEOPLE...REPRESENT THESE GREAT UNITED STATES....AND ONLY WHEN EACH OF US CAN SPEAK AND EXCHANGE IDEAS AND THOUGHTS FREELY AND WITHOUT FEAR OF YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT WILL OUR NATION CONTINUE TO BE THE GREATEST NATION OF FREE PEOPLE EVER TO LIVE ON THIS EARTH....TO MR. BASHORE...I SUGGEST YOU SHUT DOWN YOUR STATION AND TURN IN YOUR FCC LICENSE FOR YOU APPEAR TO BE STATE CONTROLLED WHEREBY IT IS "NOT" IN THE BEST INTEREST'S OF THE LISTENING PUBLIC AND ITS EXISTENCE IS A TOTAL "SHAM".
By: JOEY VILLANO on March 17, 2012
Totally disappointed. If you are getting pressure from the flakes at MoveOn, be advised - they are not buying any products from sponsors. They are just practicing at being little totalitarians.
By: physicsnut on March 17, 2012
Thank you for removing the talk jerks
By: Jimmy on March 18, 2012
You can't even get to talk directly to Brett Beshore to let him know how unhappy we are with the format change. He's to chicken to pick up the phone. It's always his voicemail. Love to know the real reason for the change and what can we do to get it back.
By: Fank P. on March 19, 2012
I'm glad to know I'm not alone! I thought I was going crazy! What's with all this country music??? I want my local talk radio back! Sean, Rush, Mark, etc. I switched over to 77 wabc am radio. Just doesn't come in as clearly.
By: Michele Syvertsen on March 19, 2012
I think I am going to switch to satellite radio. That way I can listen to what I want to - when I want to.
By: Maureen on March 19, 2012
What happeend to my talk radio???
One day i am listening to rush and sean and the next i have a continuous headach hearing the uninformitive, uneducated, boring stuff that i can hear already on another station. WHY in god's name did they need WKIP as well and in turn silence or free speach?
No warning, no heads up, this is insane
BRING BACK TALK RADIO.IT WAS THE ONLY PLACE TO GET IT AROUND HERE CLEAR, AND THE ONLY STATION I LISTENED TO!!!
By: Chris Leo on March 23, 2012

Well Libtards, is this your idea of FREE SPEECH? 1st Amendment? Shutting down the opponents voice because we disagree with your dumb opinions? Brilliant!
Yep, everybody BOYCOTT this station and go to WABC 7.70 AM or just go to WABC.com and listen live to the streaming programs! They're all on!

WKIP has been removed from my set button!!! Shameful!
Do you not think we understand that you have sold out???
Watch your ratings now!!! Country music, really???
What are you afraid of, the truth? Remember, it shall set you free!
SHOW SOME GUTS! BRING BACK TALK RADIO!
By: STEEL on March 26, 2012
Obviously you have your reasons. You lost my support.
By: Gary K on March 27, 2012
No guts...and your excuse is????
Just watch those ratings now...including your am station!
By: NYPA on March 28, 2012
Imus is my guy. Funny as hell and shoots from the hip. I will go and get myself some satellite radio so that I am not held hostage by your spineless decision to chop off talk radio at the neck. Country music is boring and liberals are humorless and affected! They all sound over-educated, morally superior and almost as boring as country music!!
By: Rivers A. on April 1, 2012
What happened to conservative talk radio? I need to be able to keep tabs on what the hate mongers are saying. Note: It's fine and well (and necessary) to have large differences of opinion, but why is the far right so hate-filled? (The hate gets in the of constructive discussion.) I've voted republican several times, but today's republicans (the Limbaugh wing) are an embarrassment.
By: CGS on April 2, 2012
Frankly, WKIP 99.3 FM was the only station I have on my radios, listening at least 4 to 6 hours daily. With the possible exception of Savage at nite I even listened with a walkman when outside doing work. I presume (I hope)this was a business decision based on lack of advertising and not the result of the cybernet socialnet scam attack by whacko Democrat operators. Is there anything we can do to get this programming back on the air?
By: Mike Aiello on April 2, 2012
What the Hell happen!! Where are the real patriots, Rush, Sean and Marc what happen!!!
By: mark s. on April 3, 2012
I listened almost every day to talk radio 3-11pm along with everyone in my shop. Now we're back to wabc....you lost ancall entire shift of listeners...hope it was worth it!
By: mike c on April 5, 2012
I've listened to WKIP for many hours everyday for years. It was the only radio station I ever had on. I bragged about & recommended WKIP to countless people on a regular basis. I have even preset the station on friend's radios. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed that WKIP has changed to country music. But, I am even more disappointed that listeners haven't been given any semblance of an explanation. I don't want to jump to conclusions as to why the programming change occurred but lack of reasoning will always lead to assumptions. Do the honorable thing and give your listeners an explanation. Country music will undoubtedly lead to a major loss of listeners and advertisers. Silence on your part will see both WKIP and Clear Channel lose many, many more.
By: Lindsay on April 6, 2012
Bring back balance! NPR has their exposure to the Hudson Valley, why doesn't the Right? Poor decision all around, ethically, morally, economically!
By: Dave on April 21, 2012
RECENTLY FOUND THAT WKIP IS NOW ON "AM RADIO". THEY BROADCAST ON 1450AM AND ALSO ON 1370AM. THE FORMAT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME AND THEY HAVE THE SAME LINEUP OF CONSERVATIVE HOST'S.....THE ONLY PROBLEM MAY BE IN THE AM SIGNAL RECEPTION DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE IN THE UPSTATE AREA.
