Listener Comments and Reviews

Fable reading lowers rating The jazz and smooth jazz music selections on North Coast Radio FM 105.9 in the Rochester, NY, are fine; but what I find highly offensive and generally irritating are interruptions by a very sick-sounding man reading or reciting platitudinous clichés and yarns ─ usually at the expense of women. I change stations every time I hear this nonsense. The station would do well to dump this simpering moralizer and his tall tales and fables and stick to spinning the genre: smooth jazz.

Who was the Korean vocalist you played today, Saturday March 22, around 6:10 p.m.? The name sounded You Soon Na. Guitar/Vocal. Some of the lyrics: "What have I become," "You could have it all," "I will make you hurt" -- a beautiful song sung beautifully but also a sad song. In Brighton, I listen to North Coast Radio WJZR, FM 105.9 Rochester, NY. Thanks for your reply.

By: Judy Lucas on July 27, 2019

On or about 8/6/19 at between the hours of around 12am and 1am I think, your DJ played two songs. One by Boz Scaggs followed by a great song by Bela Fleck. I didn't quite get the names of the songs or which albums they were from. I must own that music. Any help you can provide in this regard will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

To Kolye - The group is Yokov Karlzen 3 and is somewhere out of Europe. I really liked the music and it took me a long time to get the name right. I hope this helps you out.

By: Dwight Wormely on February 20, 2020

Very cool stuff. Reminiscent of the "West Coast" California jazz sound of many moons ago, when musicians of that genre could actually read the charts and had the chops to make it happen. If someone doesn't have eyes to dig these vibes, let him go back to his Lawrence Welk and bubble machine.

How do you spell the name of the local quartet that sounds like The Manhattan Transfer? It sounds like you're saying "The Royal Boxers" but I cannot find their music on Amazon by that name. Thanks for your reply.
By: Thomas Shelby on October 17, 2020

That group The Royal Boxsters (sp) you played after the song by Paul Simon at approximately 01:15AM Saturday 10/31/20 is absolutely painful to listen to and so unbearable I muted the volume on my tuner. Every time you play this group it is like finger nails on a chalkboard. If you base your selections on listener input, cast my vote to cease and desist from playing any of their catterwallering excuse for music on your nightly shows ever again. Thank you in advance for sparing my ears.

I was listening to your station earlier today, and heard a song that sounded like The Steve Gadd Band, but it was a group from Ghana called Pa Kau. I could not find them as I don't think I am spelling the band name correctly. Can you send it to me? Thank you, Gary

Hi I’m looking for the name of a song, artist, and album That played directly after a Tedeschi Trucks song. It was played right around 11:05 am on Saturday January 30th 2021. Nice groovy, funky drums and bass with clarinet And sax with effects being used. Thanks I hope that helps.
By: Alan on January 30, 2021

Do you have a playlist available to the public? It would help support the artists you play and further listeners’ connection to their music. Thanks.
By: Jeffrey Tucker on February 22, 2021

Listening to 105.9 at 1:40pm on Saturday, 1/29/22. Seems that your programming has changed. Right now I'm not enjoying what is being played. I haven't figured out when this programming starts and stops. I'm turning it off right for various types of music. Is there someplace where I can find that info. Thanks.
