FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   “Every day is like a violin rodeo!” ~ Musica Franklin visitor   TURNERS FALLS – Sunday, May 5 the general public is invited to a free Fun Fest at Sheffield Elementary School located on the hill in Turners Falls from 12 noon until 5 pm hosted by Musica Franklin, a community nonprofit arts and social justice initiative.   Musica Franklin - a free after-school music program open to children ages 7 – 12 - provides more than just violin and drumming lessons. Singing, dancing, snacks, performances, peer leadership, and community celebrations are all included at sites in Greenfield and Turners Falls. Working from the belief that the pursuit of musical excellence teaches students to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives, Musica Franklin in three short years has reached over 100 students.   At this first annual Fun Fest, all ages will enjoy a range of interactive and creative activities – from musical performances, juggling, puppet theater, face painting, crafts, and a bouncy house to sound wave demonstrations, a family dance, and an instrument petting zoo.   Refreshments will be available from popular area food trucks and a bake sale.   Featured artist, Mister.
