We would be so apprciative if you'd consider playing our brand new single ‘Monterey Bay’ by Sun-Pinned Leaves. We are an English music duo and the song is dedicated to the memory of the beautiful music of John Denver. The song was released on Friday on all of the major online platforms. Whilst recovering from appendicitis ‘Leaving on a Jet Plane’ came over the hospital radio which transported me far away from my surroundings to another world. As a teen my musical tastes were diverse but, I’d always return to the beautiful tone of JD’s voice and I wore out the grooves on vinyl copies of ‘’Greatest Hits’, ‘Back Home Again’ and ‘Windsong’. In 1979 now at College my parents’ birthday gift was a ticket to see him at London’s Wembley Empire Pool where he and his band filled the space with melodies that spirited me to beautiful landscapes peopled by friendly faces. Twelve years later with my wife Ann, I saw him play the Royal Albert Hall and she was able to share the magic I’d felt in 1979. This would be the last time we’d see him play. In 2002 on a US vacation I found myself looking out over Monterey Bay humbled by the beauty tinged with serenity. Eighteen years on with my musical partner in Sun-Pinned Leaves Neil Faulkner, we remember John Denver in our song ‘Monterey Bay’.”
